Before and after... Weren't they lovely locks?
Well it's been a while since I posted and not much has been going on except for a lot of sickness. Everyone has been hit and I think Nate and I got the brunt of it! I think we might single handedly be keeping mucinex and dayquil in buissness. Addison is in a play this week, The Tempest. He has been having a great year doing drama. He took stage crew and it has kept him very busy, and taught him some handy skills. Chloe has a choir concert this week. And Steve has drill this next weekend, and I have a conference for work. Mike and Cindy will also be in town this next weekend... Busy, busy! Last weekend was beautiful and we had a great time playing hide and go seek at discovery park. Too bad the cold snowy weather has come back. I just planted about 150 seeds for our garden this year so lets hope this year we have an amazing one! and let's hope spring comes soon.
We just had parent conference for Tait and Nate, and it was awesome! They both have almost straight A's. Nate's teacher did say that if he didn't have straight A's he wasn't living up to his potential. And urged him to actually try, because the grades he had were him just sliding by. We agree and we will be working on that with him. She also said he is a very polite and respectful boy. Tait's teacher said she is doing really well and just should work on being more confident raising her hand, speaking in front of the class, and making friends. This is something she has always had a hard time with but she is improving. It's funny how the child you see at home isn't the child that is at school. Thinking of Tait being shy has always been a weird concept for me. She is now about 5'2 and looks like she's way older than she is so I guess being shy is a good thing. Chloe had a conference as well to decide what classes to take next year. Her grades were not what we expect from Chloe, but I guess becoming the social butterfly, has taken a little toll on her grades. She has become quite the teenager! Most of our weekends and nights with her she is either out with friends, has one over or is texting/talking or on the computer. We didn't have conferences for Quinn and Addison but I'm sure Quinn's grades are great. Addison well you never know with all the plays he's doing . Steve and I started using face book, which has been fun reconnecting with lots of people from our past. The pic is of course Steve in uniform. Nate is standing behind him throwing a ball at him. I'm not quite sure why... but sometimes it's just easier not to ask why!
Not much new except Steve went to his first drill this weekend. Marching is hard was what he had to say. Actually I think it was, "Marching is really hard." I'm done going to Heber. Working full time is just too hard with 5 kids! Even if all 5 are only part-time. Plus now I can actually get back a little to the job I really love, of caregiving for the elderly. Soooo life will hopefully be back to "normal". I will post a pic of my handsome hubby in uniform as soon as I can get one (sometimes he's camara shy) Guess that sums it up. Oh, it's snowing again!!!!
Ok, so the big news is... Steve has joined the National Guard. Yes, that's right. He was sworn in this week and will be shipping off in May for basic training. He will be gone for 6 months including his specialty training, and jump school. He is a little crazy, but he's ours and we love him, and we're proud of him.
Here are some pics from Chloe's bday.
